In the annual competition conducted by the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada, CHURCH magazine was awarded first place for General Excellence in its category—professional and special interest magazines. CHURCH also won that award last year. Judged against all Catholic magazines in the competition, CHURCH took a second place for best book review for a review in the summer issue of Doing the Right Thing at Work by the National Pastoral Life Center's Jeffry Odell Korgen, Secretary of the Roundtable Association of Diocesan Social Action Directors; also judged against all other magazines, CHURCH took second place for best review section.
